The Way of St James - cycle
We had a wonderful trip following this beautiful part of Spain. We highly recommend making the cycle trip on ebikes which gave us the opportunity to view our environment in a more leisurely way and to enjoy some of the tougher cycling elevations. Being able to cover greater distances on our ebikes also made a difference to our tour.
Our disappointment was when there was no one to welcome us in person at the start in Astorga.
On all five previous cycle trips with Rad & Reisen there was a charming guide at the onset who ensured that everything was in order for our trip and who assured us of future support along the route should we require it.
We had to find our way to the cycle shop (whose name had changed) in Astorga to pick up our ebikes. The shop owner could not speak English and was not helpful. We felt vulnerable should we encounter problems with the ebikes along the route.
Vanesa, however, was very helpful with WhatsApp messages. The map and directions were excellent, and the length of the trip was perfect.
