Summer in Bavaria
Very picturesque bike route along the Altmühl with mainly car free bike path or quiet country roads. Warm weather very pleasant. Accommodation was generally good although noisy streets and warm nights requiring open windows led to some disturbed sleep occasionally. We were on bed and breakfast and found the breakfast buffet generally excellent and there were many good restaurants to choose from in the evening. Our bikes were standard 21 speed and of a good standard and maintenance although we found the low forward set handlebar position pretty uncomfortable and would have preferred a more upright riding position as on previous similar bike tours.
