Danish kings, Vikings, Hamlet and enchanting Copenhagen await you on this tour. The breathtaking rally takes you next to charming Copenhagen to the most beautiful cities and places in Zealand. Roskilde and Elsinore with Kronborg Castle are just two examples. In the footsteps of great Danish kings as well as the Vikings, you will discover enchanting surroundings and idyll alternates with the lively hustle and bustle of the city of Copenhagen.

Mostly flat and paved paths, some light uphill stretches, few unpaved natural paths and less traffic side roads.

Day 1: Køge

Individual arrival in Køge

Day 2: Excursion to Copenhagen, approx. 45 - 57 km

Today we head north. On beautiful paths, mostly along the bay, you cycle to Copenhagen. Copenhagen is considered one of the most bike-friendly cities ever. Centuries of history and modernity meet here. The city has a lot to offer and is worth an extended stay. Return you can easily get there by train (under your own direction).

Day 3: Excursion to Elsinore, approx. 50 km

Your second cycling stage starts by train to Copenhagen. You cycle through the former hunting grounds of the Danish kings in Dyrehaven in Klampenborg. Idyllic landscapes and forests will enchant you before your route leads to the coast. Follow this to Elsinore, always accompanied by beautiful beaches that invite you to jump into the cool water. In Elsinore you should definitely visit Kronborg Castle. But the old port city has much more to offer. Take enough time before you take the train back to Köge (on your own).

Day 4: Trip to Roskilde, approx. 78 km

Your bike tour to Roskilde leads partly along the bay and inland. Completely car-free cycle paths take you to the historic Roskilde, whose cathedral is visible from afar and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. The sarcophagi and tombs where 38 Danish kings and queens found their final resting place make the church special. An extensive network of cycle paths will take you back to Koege. Alternatively, you can easily take the train (under your own direction) back.

Day 5: Rest day Køge

Take advantage of the day at the beach or for a stroll through one of Denmark’s most beautiful half-timbered towns – Køge.

Day 6: Stevns Klint, approx. 44 km

Experience the cliffs of Stevns-Klint which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to their rare geological formation. It contains the ash layer of a meteorite impact that probably ended the life of dinosaurs on Earth 66 million years ago. By train under your own from Rödvig back to Köge.

Day 7: Køge.

From Berlin to Hamburg, from Hamburg by ICE to Copenhagen incl. ferry ride Puttgarden - Rødby (travel time approx. 5 hours, NO bike transport possible, advance reservation required!)

By regional express to Flensburg and change to the Danish Intercity to Copenhagen (travel time approx. 6 hours, bicycle transport possible!).

Arrival by car

Take advantage of the free parking facilities in Køge at your hotel, subject to availability, or on the free parking area not far from the train station.
