You would like to go on a cycling holiday in 2022, but you are concerned about the ongoing pandemic and got questions?

A holiday by bike offers great outdoor experience away from the crowds, and due to fair distance, also a high degree of safety.
Despite COVID19, numerous hotel and boat bike tours took place already last summer.
Particularly on our ships, we paid meticulous attention to the physical distancing regulations. Due to generally applicable hygiene rules, crews are especially trained and sensitized. Despite strict hygiene regulations, our guests’ holiday experience was not affected. We have been able to protect all of our guests well and have not recorded a single case of infection.

When is the best time to book?

We expect an increased demand for 2021, but capacities in hotels and on ships may still be limited in some cases.
With an early booking, you ensure to get the best early bird bonus.
Flexible rebooking and cancellation options apply to numerous trips. If specific conditions apply, you will find them on the site of your tour in “Route”.

Do I need to expect restrictions or a change of the itinerary due to COVID 19 ?

In case of regional travel warnings or local restrictions (closure of museums, cancellation of transfers) the itinerary will be adjusted accordingly.
If no suitable adaptation of the itinerary is justifiable, the operator will cancel the tour. You would be informed about that in good time, and of course no costs will occurr for you.
In that case we offer:

-    Free re-booking for another date 2021/2022 (in case of a higher price in a comparable season with no additional payment), or
-    Change into a voucher for a future booking from our program, or
-    Refund of the payment within 14 days.

Am I allowed to resign free of charge if I have concerns for my health?

Your health and your carefree holiday experience are our utmost concern.


We consider carefully whether a trip can be realized, and if necessary, we would cancel it.


Please do not decide to rashly cancel your trip. Even if there is a travel warning for a destination 4 or 5 months before arrival, it does not mean that you can cancel the tour without any costs occurring at that point.
Please wait with your cancellation until close to the departure date, otherwise the cancellation conditions according to our terms and conditions will apply. For a free cancellation, the travel warning must exist for the period of your trip.

Is COVID-19 covered by the travel insurance?

Please note that for many insurances pandemics often are a criterion for exclusion.

We therefore recommend our contractual partner EUROPÄISCHE REISEVERSICHERUNG AG, which has currently suspended this criterion for exclusion.

Extract from the insurance conditions: Cancellation cover also in case of COVID-19 disease despite pandemic status

COVID-19 is still classified as an epidemic or pandemic (cf. WHO, Austrian health authorities).

However, for already booked trips insured by us and new conclusions of our insurance policies, we do not apply the pandemic exclusion for cancellation and travel interruption cases contained in our insurance terms and conditions.

Insofar, we grant cover in the event that you, as the insured customer, cannot start or have to interrupt the travel,

  •     because you suffer from COVID-19 symptoms,
  •     because you have been found to have, an elevated temperature measured, even if a later test result is negative,
  •     because you were tested positive for COVID-19 without showing symptoms,
  •     because a close relative (*) or a person living in the same household has contracted COVID-19 and your urgent presence is required,
  •     because a close relative (*) in the same household has contracted COVID-19 and you must therefore be quarantined.

(*) close relatives are defined as spouse (or registered partner or partner living in the same household), children (step children, children-in-law, grandchildren, foster children), parents (step parents, parents-in-law, grandparents, foster parents), siblings and brother-in-law/sister-in-law of the insured person - in case of a registered partner or partner living in the same household, additionally his/her children, parents and siblings.

However, there is no cancellation cover

•    if you cannot or do not want to start the travel because you are worried about an infection due to the increasing number of cases at your holiday destination,
•    if you cannot or do not want to start the travel because you are classified as a risk patient,
•    if the service providers or tour operators cannot (any longer) provide their services (e.g. as a result of a level 5 or 6 travel warning). In this case, however, no cancellation costs may be charged anyway,
•    if you cannot start the travel because you are placed in quarantine due to a suspected case (e.g. in kindergarten or among your colleagues) without having symptoms of the disease or having tested positive.
As before, our premiums do not differentiate between risk patients and non-risk patients, and, as before, we do not introduce any age limits..
